Professor Kithure Kindiki is the Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Interior and National Administration in the Government of Kenya. This position he acquired after being appointed by President William Samoei Ruto on September 27, 2022, taking over from Fred Matiang’i.

Before his appointment, Professor Kindiki served as Tharaka Nithi Senator for two terms from 2013 to 2022, and was the first Senate Majority Leader from 2013 to 2017, and Deputy Speaker of the Senate from 2013 to 2020.

Professor Kindiki is also a legal scholar of international repute who holds a Ph.D in International Law from the University of Pretoria.
